Historic Downtown Richmond is one of the finest
restored
19th century commercial districts in the state of Kentucky. Richmond
was the first city in the state to receive a National Register
District designation and boast over 100 buildings on the National
Register Districts. The Downtown Commercial District is the proud

Richmond,
founded in 1798 by Revolutionary War soldier Colonel John
Miller,
is the county seat for Madison County. It is one of Kentucky’s most

the oldest continuing pottery west of the Alleghenies.
